VOLCANO/BIRD DESIGN ON FIRED TILE

Designed, executed, and fired by a master tile maker in Auburn, CA at 121˚ W 04’/38˚ N 54’.  It was created as art of a series of tile symbolizing volcanic eruptions.  The maker, Dianna Rose, was keenly sensitive to the transformative energies of the volcano.  Heating and cooling stone/kaolinite clay is a superb method for creating a talisman. It copies the glass-making powers of the volcano, when it first melts, then freezes stone by throwing it up into the much colder air.  Potters, smiths, and tile-makers are all masters of this talisman-making method.
